| SearchSight.com uses a
number referred to as a Q value to help determine the ranking of
search results. Q values range from 0.0 to 10.0 and you can
view the Q values for web pages by either using the
listing search page or by holding your
mouse pointer over the URL on the search results page or a directory
listing page.
There are numerous
factors used to determine a web page's Q value, which is calculated
when a web page is indexed by one of our web crawlers. There are a few additional steps
you can take to boost your web page's Q value as well. These
include linking to SearchSight.com with
either a simple text link, or a banner link.
Each URL that is evaluated and contains a link to SearchSight.com will
receive a boost in its Q value of .5 (one half point). The
boost in Q value will only be applied to the pages that contain the
link to SearchSight.com, and the listing will receive the increase
in Q value after the page with the link has been re-submitted.
The highest Q value awarded is normally a 7.0 (7.5
if the page links to SearchSight.com) unless
the page has been upgraded to a premiere listing.
A premiere listing will set a web page's Q value immediately to 9.0. |
